I re-read this story with such a pleasure. It's severitus (as in, Severus is Harry's father) and Harry returns at Hogwarts in disguise as Dustin Snape, taking advantage of the breaking charms that his mother placed on him in his childhood. Now he needs just a pair of black contact lenses and a charm to cover his famous scar and nobody will know who he is.
Along the school year, Harry is sorted in Slytherin, falls in love with Draco, and makes a lot of successful plans to unite the school, to train and protect the students, and to fight and defeat Voldemort.
Vorabiza weaves a masterful tapestry of love, obstacles and intrigue, as always. The story is beautiful and explores original ideas. If you like H/D, this is a must read!

It's a very long, plotty adventure, with Hermione as a main character. The story begins in the present, with Hermione finding a way to bring Sirius back from the Veil, and with the fight to defeat Voldemort; continues with her traveling to the past, living through the Marauders' era, and then she's brought forward to her own time.
The most intriguing part is that Hermione is not going to change the past. She's just going to "live and enjoy life", as Remus puts it.
I loved how ShayaLonnie inserts Hermione in the past, using a potion to de-age her, and how detailed her life in the Marauders' era is. I loved how, back in the present, every thread is tided - nothing remains unresolved, also with many satisfying details.
Every step is wonderfully explored. You know when usually the time-travel is quite detailed, but the "back in the present" part is just one chapter and you're never satisfied? Not in this story!

A second chance for Severus Snape, brought by his trying to protect Harry when the Death Eaters attacked the wards around the Dursley's home. And a chance for Harry to shine as a truly good man, protecting and then loving a child who was such a bitter person in the past. A lovely view of Ron, as a nice character - I don't usually like Ron very much, but here he was quite credible and interesting. Little Severus POV is adorable and wonderfully written. All in all, a sweet family story, interwoven with Harry's destiny to defeat Voldermort.

One of my favorites is this story where Harry came into his destiny as a Dark Lord after defeating Voldermort. The author wrote a well-reasoned, compelling story, and it's interwoven with an equal beautiful destined love story. If you add some supportive friends (not all of them, obviously!), and include Narcissa and Draco as family, I think that's intriguing enough to want to see what's this about.
On the hpfandom site, the author's name was The_Minx_17.

This is a very original idea about Veela!Draco, but it isn't the only reason to love this story. The way Draco and Harry come together, first as friends, then as lovers and mates, is beautiful and alive. If you like them as a family, if you like them defeating some pretty awful odds, this is a must read.

Not A Standard Pair

And I don't mean a rare pair, but Harry/Tom Riddle. I don't consider this pair as a standard one because there are few credible stories, and I found just one finished that I loved. The rest I enjoyed are still WIP.

I loved the original idea - mixing necromancy and reincarnation as another way to live forever. Also, I loved their first lives and the way Harry evolves in his second one. The interactions with Lucius, Severus and Sirius are great, especially Severus. I consider this story a must read for Harry/Tom fans.
Too bad the rest of Athey's stories are WIP - but every one of them is worth reading.

I absolutely love Magical Creatures stories. I don't care if the creature is Harry, Draco, Severus, Lucius... you get the picture. Here are three nice stories in this category.

Harry and Draco are half-Veelas, and eventual mates, but the road is long. There isn't a destined mate in this story. It's a long process of courtship for Harry to choose his mate, on a background of the war with Voldemort, with some interesting twists, such as an extended prophecy and no Harry in the actual fighting. Also a beautiful job on the secondary characters, both canon, as Neville, Hermione, Pansy and Lavender, and OC, as Harry's and Draco's families.

Draco is a Veriae, as is Lucius. This is the story of Draco bonding with Harry and of discovering each other's true selves. I liked Lucius' love for his child and Harry's slow acceptance of his relationship with his new mate.

I liked very much their relationship as one between equals, between adults.

This series is composed of two long great novels. It describes true war with Voldemort, a war spilled in Muggle Britain, with Voldemort conquering the island and Harry taking refuge in Ireland. Not by himself, but accompanied by his friends, saving along the way the students and teachers of Hogwarts, and their families. Harry creates a town named Haven in Ireland, which became the Ministry-in-exile seat, and from were the british refugees fight against Voldemort's Death Eaters to take back their country.
The authors tell a detailed story of resistance and war, of cooperation between the Muggle and the Wizarding Goverments, and above all, of Harry and his extended adopted family: Hermione and her parents, Draco and Narcissa, Remus and Tonks, Luna, Neville, Ginny...
I liked powerful!Harry theme, it's beautifully written. Also, the author writes an evil and manipulative Dumbledore which is very credible.
If you like long detailed plotty stories, this series is a must read!

Well, I'm re-reading this story now - it's long, plotty and very well written. I think this is one of the best "another school" stories I've read, if not the absolute best. The plot begins with Harry escaping from Dumbledore's thumb and going to an american school for his sixth an seventh years. The school and the OCs are wonderfully detailed and Harry's interaction with his old and new friends completely believable. We can see every day life not just for Harry at this new place with new challenges (no dark wizards, but werewolves and vampires), but also what's happening back in Britain, everything culminating with the final confrontation with Voldemort. I loved the details about Harry's new school, the day-to-day lessons, and especially the competition between the four american schools, the so-called Olympics. Also, I liked very much Harry's relation with his Weasley brothers, the twins. And the pranks were a nice touch!

This is another wonderful long plotty story. Harry, 5 years old, has run away from his aunt and is now hidden within a travelling caravan composed mostly of squibs. He'll grow with them, making a lot of acquaintances with the wizards we are familiar with, but never disclosing his true identity beyond his gypsy family. That is, until he must fulfill his destiny, going at Hogwarts at 16. What I loved in this fic is the level of detail, the world which the author creates, the original characters which are so... alive. I could immerse myself in Harry relationships with his adopted family, could see their life together and their adventures. When you read this story, you get more than a glimpse at what could have been, you get another perspective at the wizarding world.

The premise of this fic is quite original: what if being a virgin adult in the wizarding world means something extraordinary? The story follows Harry and Hermione through their seventh year at Hogwarts, dealing with their unexpected problem. The principal character is Hermione, even if Harry, Severus and Draco play major characters too; we see her development most of all, and I for one liked how the author portrays her, even if it's a bit OOC. The fic also includes some of my preferred themes in HP fanfic: powerful Harry and a cure for lycantrophy. It's long and plotty. Enjoy!

This is the absolute best fic I've read following HBP. It healed my hurt feelings from reading DH. It has a great plot, which ties every single thread left open in HBP and also presents a beautiful credible H/D romance, with a side of H/S mentorship. I loved the feeling of family, with Severus, Remus, Narcissa and Lucius as parents for Harry and Draco. I loved the fact Harry and Draco are teens trying to cope with responsibility of being parents themselves, being in the center of a war, Harry becoming a leader, Draco more than a spoiled child, wanting to support his mate. And I must mention the humorous side - it really gave me a good laugh. This fic is one of a few I didn't want one single word changed.

I loved seeing the evolution in Harry and Draco relationship, the way they matured together. I loved how they came together, how they learned, trained, fought, how they faced horrible challenges and how they were victorious. Again, I loved the feeling of family, this time the predominant parental characters being Lucius and Narcissa, and in the background Remus. Also, I consider the use of patroni in this fic quite original and beautiful. Last but not least, it was interesting seeing Draco going to Durmstrang with a lot of details for that school.
